In quantitative surveys, order is not cosmetic. Priming, contrast, and fatigue change how respondents interpret scales and brand items. Research companies that treat sequence as a design variable — with randomisation and logic in the builder — produce cleaner reads for clients.
Context setters come first
Category usage and unaided awareness usually belong before branded evaluation. Asking favourability too early teaches respondents which brands matter and can inflate later recognition measures.
Use logic and randomisation deliberately
CKP Script’s survey logic supports skip patterns, display logic, piping, quotas, and randomisation. Randomise equivalent blocks when order effects are a threat; keep fixed order when a narrative funnel is intentional and documented for the client.
Watch fatigue at the tail
Grid-heavy closers after a long screener produce flatlined data. Move critical KPIs earlier, or shorten with guided length tuning. Sequence decisions should show up in the analysis plan — not only in the script file.
